Beautiful puff of smoke! But doesn't last

I was wanting a good scent for my car. I've tried everything going but come across Scandiscents while browsing the web. I thought I'd give them a try. So I bought the set and charged it up and popped it into the car. I was excited to smell something original and beautiful but couldn't get to grips with the settings. Purple is every 10 secs green more secs and then blue more seconds. I clipped it in front of my vent but im a tad disappointed. This does cost a bit plus the oils and was hoping for something strong and lasting but sorry to say no. It doesn't last! When it puffs its lovely but when it doesn't the smell doesn't linger. What's going on? I've even bought another one to see if I can get the scent to be stronger and last longer but as yet no. I am very disappointed but will persevere. I even bought more oils hoping that one might be stronger! I cant help thinking ive wasted alot of money. I would be grateful for any advice on using my car scents ie setting and position or its back to trees!!
