StyleQ Flat Iron

Let me first begin with — do not waste your time, money, nor energy purchasing these irons if you have an ounce of curl and thickness to your hair. This is NOT for you unless you like a certain look. Now, let’s dive into why… When I first started straightening my hair, I honestly thought, wow—this IS a great iron. The cool-to-the-touch technology lets me get close to my scalp without burning, and it looks like I’m getting my hair straight with genuinely one pass. This is phenomenal. WRONG. After I finished my whole head, I couldn’t deny that my hair looked like I had only blown it out extremely well—nothing more, nothing less. These irons create a very fluffy effect. If you don’t like the look of sleek, freshly straightened hair, then these are the irons for you. I am not that girl. After straightening my hair, I need it to be bone straight—and these irons do not and seemingly cannot create that look. I will say, though, the irons do add lots of shine to your hair. Also, let me not forget: about thirty minutes after fully straightening my hair, the ends began swelling/poofing—something I have never experienced before. After about two hours, the roots and all were poofing, creating a helmet effect. A list of a few honorable mentions: These are bulky—not that it stops me from reaching my roots, but they are bulky, and the size can be cumbersome around the perimeter. The buttons are a bit awkward to press. Very slow in my opinion to heat up (I haven’t dealt with slow heat-up times like this in a very long time). The temperature presets are odd, i.e. 370, 390, 410.

I’ve only been using it for a short time, but so far I love it. All of the claims about no frizz or less frizz are definitely true.

Love this hair straightener and the infrared technology … my hair is so much straighter and with more shine, without damage to my hair.
