Original Blum Clip broke this year after 2008 installation that I blame on the remod team… they hung one of my cabinet doors misaligned to the next, & eventual wear & tear & friction broke it. New one installed after door realignment, and all is well.

great replacement plates and hinges

I got a tip from a local cabinet maker that these Blum 170-degree snap-in corner hinges would work as replacements for the similar Hafele slide-in hinges that have been failing periodically for over ten years now. The face mounting plates on the Hafeles keep getting stress cracks and eventually failing. The stamped metal is just too weak to last over time. I don’t know how many times I replace the plates over the years, but I finally had to give up trying to find replacements. Hence the visit to the cabinet shop. I ordered the Blum plates and hinges that they recommended for all four corner cabinets in our kitchen. They fit and work perfectly. These Blum plates are made of heavy cast metal. Much stronger. The quality of the hinges is excellent. I didn’t even have to drill new holes or use new screws. I just un-screwed the old hinges and the new ones fit perfectly into the cavities in the cabinet doors and the screw holes lined up perfectly. The new Blum plates fit onto the cabinet frames using the old screw holes, and the cabinet doors snapped into the new face plates with only most minor of adjustments. Amazing! The quality of this Blum hinge hardware makes a big differ! These corner cabinet doors have never opened and closed so smoothly and solidly before.
