I Love These Earpads!

For comfort, these pads blow the stock AKG (Harman) pads out of the water. SOFT and not hard like the stock AKG pads; plus the velour ear-side part makes my headphones comfortable to wear even when I'm (sometimes) wearing my spectacles. With the 'breathable' pierced sides, the Brainwavz pads even reduce the amount I sweat on hot days! And, I don't notice any problems with lack of bass or any other effect on the sound. The ONLY reason I'm giving four stars and not five is that after three years of continuous daily use (I narrate audiobooks), the PU leather is breaking up where it joins the velour, which is why I'm buying a replacement. That's not unreasonable wear, and I'd heartily recommend the hybrid pads to anyone who spends a considerable portion of their life with headphones on, especially if your cans are AKG K271 or K240.

Memory Foam Earpads Round Hybrid vs. Round Velour

I got these as replacements for my round velour earpads, which had begun to deteriorate over time and the pu leather or synthetic material collar was disintegrating. I wanted to try the hybrid version as I found a lot of dirt, dust etc would attract to the velour very easily. I thought these would be a "cleaner" option and easier to keep. However, I find the sound more bassy with the hybrid earpads, which I'm using on a pair of Sivga 007 open back headphones. I found the velour better, in terms of sound quality in bringing out the best in my headphones. The music sounds brighter and "breathes" more. I don't consider myself an expert nor even close to one when reviewing earpads or headphones but this has been my personal experience. Although, I've only started using the hybrids, I think I will revert to using the round velour earpads as I'd become so accustomed to listening to my music through these.

Superb value and quality 100mm hybrid earpads

Bought for a DIY headphone project. Beautiful quality materials and stitching. The hybrid 100mm earpads are comfortable but have sufficient friction they don't slip. Will be purchasing some other 100mm in different materials to see how they affect the sound. Very pleased with these and good value for money.
