The dedication of Asahi-yaki to push the performance of this houhin to such extent is admirable! I was most impreseed by the fast and smooth flow right at the beginning of pouring, even exceeding that from the reputed sasame filter. The pour is clean without drip and no leaves being left behind on the lid after pouring, thanks to the extended lip above the flter. The minimal lip at the rear makes it a breeze to clear the used leaves out of the pot. This is a highly funtional brewing vessel made possible through the innovative design. It is also a beautiful work of art - exquisite craftsmanship, warm color with elegant hue gradients, fine carzing on the glaze developed through brewing, plus the fascinating gohonte pattern with the tiny dimple shown at the center of each spot. I only wish I could see more of these kase spots on this houhin. Overall this is a piece worth keeping and will be cherished over the years...
