The winding mechanisms on my TorqueMaster broke so I converted them to the TorqueMaster Plus style Winding End Bracket Kit (they no longer make the regular TorqueMaster winding ends). In doing so, I also had to change the winding ends (300530 and 300529) that screw in the ends of the springs. You do not need the winding mechanism that essentially has a gage to show you how many turns you have made to tighten the spring(s). There are videos and info online to show/tell how to and how much to wind up the springs with a ratchet. I was able to change out the winding ends without taking the springs out of the tube but you have to get the vice grips or channel locks on the very end of the spring so that the end will encounter the jaws and keep it from spinning when you are attempting to unscrew the winding ends. The left one (looking at the garage from the inside) is reverse-threaded. One last thing....you will need to drill about a 1/2 inch hole in the existing track frame bracket to allow space for the cleat in the new winding bracket. You'll see when you line it up. At the end of the day, I saved a ton of money fixing my old garage door instead of buying a new one.
