A Month in the Country

I very much enjoyed this book. I was taken to a whole new world,and ended it with a sense of calm. I wish I could capture that feeling and keep it with me.

One of the loveliest books I have ever read; I bought this copy to give as a gift. It’s wonderfully evocative of time and place, the characters are identifiable and real, and in its short length it manages to be a love story, a mystery, an ode to a way of life now lost… Just a lovely book which repays rereading.

Its a book I have loved for years. Beautifully written, so many interwoven storyline and themes. Good film version too
