Historically Inspired Bustier Midi Dress with Lace Trim in Gothic Black Velvet

I love this dress, and it's well made for the price. It's double lined and thick while not being heavy or hot. There are some design flaws, though. First, the breast stitching on the front of this dress makes it so wearing a bra with this dress looks weird because the stitching is too shallow but then if you don’t wear a bra with it your breasts are too low to make it look right. To fix this, I paired it with a corset which helped but as a standalone dress it’s tough to make it look good. The next design flaw is that there is a tie at the top back of the dress to keep the front lace flat. This isn’t a problem if you have another person to tie this for you but at this particular moment I didn’t. The “rabbit ears” so to speak were too loose because I was doing this all behind my head, I pulled them tight, and ended up knotting the together with no way to get the know out. Unfortunately, I had to cut the ties but now the lace does not lay flat. For design purposes, I wish they had placed a hook of some sort to easily clasp these together.
