Renaissance Corset Sewing Pattern

Surprisingly not too hard!!

This was my first ever sewing pattern so my expectations were pretty low, and after winning several fights with a sewing machine and furiously googling what is a bobbin and why does it hate me?! Pieces of this corset slowly started coming together. The YouTube video was superb and I followed this rather than the instructions so I’d personally 100% recommend that. And by the end of it I have my one of a kind imperfect but still beautiful corset. I cannot wait to try another! Seriously recommend trying this even if you’re an absolute beginner like myself, I learnt so much as I went along and now want to try more patterns as a result. Easy to follow

I’m a beginner, and these instructions were laid out well enough that my first corset turned out exactly as I hoped! The fit was perfect without any changes to the pattern. The best part about this pattern was the step by step video to demonstrate exactly what to do on some technical points. I wish more pattern makers did this!

A joy to sew from start to finish

I consider myself a confident beginner in terms of my sewing level. I also consider myself delusional, so when I saw the level of “Medium” of this pattern, I thought “I can do it.” And I did! Following along with the video tutorial made this project feel possible. It was easy to understand and each part of the process was a total joy. There are some small imperfections on my corset (binding is hard, you guys), but to the naked eye, I’ve gotten lots of compliments in terms of how professional it looks. So excited to wear this to Ren Faire next month! P.S. Pretty please make a pattern of the tiered skirt shown in the pattern image. I would scoop that up in a heartbeat!
