A Perfect Vest For What It Is

I wanted to hunt a full season with this vest before I left a review as that's the only fair way to give it one. I own several turkey vests and I don't think there will ever be a true do it all perfect turkey vest. For what this vest is, it is perfect. The vest is made very well and seems like it will hold up long term. This is not a vest to carry everything and anything, if you listened to the podcast and clips from the podcast you would know that. It is more than a minimalist vest but it's not going to carry the kitchen sink, it was purposely designed that way. I love my Fox Vest but it's heavy and when temps start to climb it gets hot, this is great for lightweight mid to late season. It will carry your necessities, especially with the molle loops as you can add a thermacell pouch and hand clippers for the back inside part of the vest. The added hole for a hydration system was a great touch. For the front it will hold and carry all that you need. Pot calls, strikers, shells, license, box call, locator call, and some bug spray. It fit me perfectly with all that gear. It fits high and tight which is great when you're on a long hike and it absolutely does not weigh you down. If you're complaining about having no inside pockets then you didn't pay attention before buying. Everything they said of this vest before the release was spot on. It works and is designed exactly the way they intended it to. I would seriously recommend this vest to anyone whether you're new to turkey hunting or you've been at it for a long time.

Almost perfect

Relatively new to turkey hunting so take what I have to say with a grain of salt. After looking at every option I could find online this vest seemed to be what I was looking for. I don’t like a bunch of extra stuff hanging off me when I’m in the woods and this seems to be the best balance of enough but not too much. Here’s what I think could be some slight improvement to make it just right, for me anyway. The seat. It could be a bit thicker for longer sits. I knew before buying it was thin and anyone upset about that didn’t look at the pictures. Since it zips off, awesome feature by the way, it would be cool if another option was available to swap out for the long or cold days. A magnet would be nice for the quick moves but not a big deal. Box call holder. Again, awesome that it’s removable but being above the big pocket makes access to that pocket a little difficult. I ended up moving that to my bino harness so it isn’t a big deal. It has two stretchy pockets on either side that I wish had a stitch across the bottom. I have it mounted vertically on my harness and put a spare shell in each side for each mine and my son’s guns. When you take the box call out sometimes the shells fall out because it’s no longer stretched tight. Easy fix with needle and thread though. Water bottle holders could be a smidge bigger but not a big deal. And lastly a small mesh pocket on the inside would be nice for tags and such. Overall a great vest that fits and feels like it’s not there.

Just what I been looking for in a vest. Hugs the body. Carry what you need for a day of turkey hunting.
