Description
All Ann wants is to ride. She does ride her friend Angy's pony, Ladybird, and has the occasional ride at Mr Winton's stables, but none of it has made her a good rider. Looking round at the people she knows, none of them are any good either....

Loved this
this was a lovely nostalgic read. I had always wondered what the book was called which I remembered reading as a child which featured a pony called Quilt. such a memorable name for a pony and I also remembered the idea of an umbrella being unhorsy but nice as the character enjoyed listening to the rain storming down on top of the umbrella yet being dry and cosy underneath it. Such a comforting image and this will become a go to comfort read. Like most of us, I longed for a pony as a child so I could identify with Ann who so longed to improve her riding and have her own pony
