Portal Downhill Package (Evo & Portal)

Turning the night into Day!!

After using outbound products for YEARS I could not wait to upgrade to the new Portal downhill package. Ordered a set for my son who is racing NICA this year also for later after school practices. WE LOVE THIS SETUP!! It blows me away how well the Evo handlebar light with the Portal helmet light works. After riding when I get in my truck I have to let my eyes adjust to the headlights because they are not as good as my Outbound lighting setup. Fifty stars!! Well Done!!

Game changer for night rides

Well Winter is coming to New England, and that means.. Hello Darkness My old friend, Now you start at 4pm.. I need my after work trail time to stay sane, and my smaller road only(not Outbound) lights absolutely do not cut it.. After eating it professionally a few times, a coworker recommended these as an alternative to dying and becoming food for whatever those red eyes in the dark belong to. Let there be light, trail covering obstacle identifying light. There is enough depth coverage that I can see shadows and height. I do 2-3 rides on one charge, so plenty of juice(good choice on the 21700 internals). Doesn't get warm. Love the quick mount connects, very robust. I need a second helmet and handlebar mount for my road rides as i will DEF be adding these to those.

Wildlife Harm Pervented

My normal ride is about 01:15 total and the downhill part is about 20 min under good conditions. On certain sections i can hit 30mphs going down and the total distance is about 6 miles. I used the Portal Downhill Package last fall for a couple of months and it performed very well. the only issue i had was being half blinded by back scatter in extremely heavy mist from the helmet light. Many porcupines were seen but none were hit.
