So far the book seems very informative and Interesting. Bought the hard copy to keep it handy on my Baby. Catalina 320 !

Great weather primer and place to start

This book is short and sweet - it tells you how weather impacts your cruising, how to understand the weather at the basic level and shows you the tools to use and how to use them. I like studying the weather and have read many books on weather and sailing. I wish I read this book first for it tells you what you really need to know and why. And then it tells you how to get the information you need and actually use it. It doesn’t teach you how to be a weather-person, it teaches you how to use available weather resources to have more comfortable sailing adventures. I recommend this book to anyone who sails.

Fantastic book, very well thought out… with one exception.

This book was easily understandable, well written and provided solid, actionable information. Very well worth the $20 or so spent, but along with all the helpful bits of advice I was surprised to see no mention whatsoever of a barometer. Nothing. I understand that this book (as it clearly states a few times) wasn’t written to make amateur meteorologists out of anyone but a barometer is one of the cornerstones of understanding what the weather is doing in your immediate vicinity. Even a brief mention of how to interpret a reading/readings would make an already very helpful book even more so.
