Here be cinematic dragons
This is an interesting film, reputedly being Eastman Double-X 5222 motion picture film and giving you that dreamy golden age movie tonality. It's relatively expensive, so it feels like a bit of a "special occasion" choice.
One thing you should be aware of, if (like me) you're a lazy rodinal stand dev obsessive- this film is one of the rare ones that reacts quite poorly to that. You lose a lot of the tonality and it looks like an explosion in a grain silo. Next time that I shoot this (and there will be a next time, it's too gorgeous not to), I'll get some DF76 especially for it. I'll attach an example rodinal grainsplosion to this review. Even if you like grain, it might make your eyebrows shoot up a bit.
A lovely film, though not an everyday shooter. Know what you're getting into, but don't hesitate if you are going to shoot something that needs a little extra atmosphere. Either get a competent lab to develop it, or consider switching up your game if you're doing it yourself. Sometimes you have to work for it!
