TechToast Academy: 25-Week Learn & Build Program

We are having so much fun learning to code and completing the weekly assignments. I have zero experience with electronics and coding, but the instructions are very helpful; the images included help guide our placement of parts, and we have been so impressed with ourselves. It's a fun challenge, but very gratifying.

The kit itself is pretty solid. The breadboard numbers are a bit hard to read though and not clear. This could be remedied with the purchase of a new board. I think the value is in the projects themselves however I do believe some fundamental or foundations are missing for understanding the breadboard and arduino etc. The first project just jumps right into turning on a light but skips basic principles of the breadboard and how electricity flows across it, and the basics of the arduino. Again, rectified through independent study and research but if you are selling a kit for 8+ years of age I think some simple and easy to follow foundational tutorials may be beneficial for your consumers. Otehrwise, its a great kit that has everything for a child or adult to get started on learning!

So far, I have done week 1 with my 7 year old and he absolutely loved it. This has made the idea of coding and tech so relatable to my son because, while I love tech, I have no idea how to do it and teach him this. The first lesson, which taught him how to do a simple code then had a challenge task after it, and to my surprise, my son figured out how to answer the first challenge, it was incredible. Highly highly recommend for parents, especially those of us who know nothing about tech and code, that want to get their children started on things they will absolutely need to know in the coming future.
