Top tier fabrication

The bag meets the expectations i had, definitely a premium leather briefcase. Excellent craftsmanship, its just as advertised in the pictures. I love that everything is leather, even the interior lining. The top does lose its boxy shape but it does not bother me. The top leather around the zipper could be stiffened to keep its shape better, but it’s such a minimal issue for me. I have received many many many compliments. Definitely a subdued statement piece, for those who appreciate leather and quality without the luxury “flashiness”. In line with Tanner’s leather philosophy which i agree with.

Immaculate

This briefcase is of Hermes quality. The leather work is astonishing, as expected from the makers in Ubrique. I mean 100% perfection. There are however one primary and one secondary room for improvement: first, the zipper is kind of hard to open/close, which impacts the usability a fair bit. I have not sought the support for this - maybe it is a matter of greasing/oiling it? Second, there is the form of the briefcase. When used without something thick inside towards the top, the zipper and the soft leather lets the briefcase fold so the top becomes pointy upwards (visually it looks like the briefcase is thinner at the top than expected. This secondary room for improvement is probably easy to fix with something that stabilizes the leather at the top. In my personal case, I can live with it, so I am not seeking a solution. But it may be good to know before making a decision. If Pegai reads this, it would be great to get a message from support on how I can proceed to fix the zipper - it may be as easy as applying something to it or as hard as changing it.
