Hart Steel 6/8 Satin Finish Round Point Straight Razor

The shoulder to edge geometry ratio was a bit off upon receipt. Fortunately, I know how to correct this. Once that was done I honed it and it is a great shaver. The steel quality for a straight razor is superb. The quality of the scales and overall fit and finish is a cut above most other brands at this price point. If you are used to hollow grinds this razor will surprise you with the additional heft, quietness and confidence you will get during your shave.

Very Good Overall

I shaved with my new Hart Steel 6/8 Barber Notch razor for the first time last night. AMAZING!!! The blade glided across my stubbly face effortlessly. I had to check to be sure it was shaving. It Was! The honing was perhaps the best I’ve ever experienced. So I’m extremely satisfied with that. I can’t say I think the maple scales are worth the upcharge - I wouldn’t purchase them again. There was a slight hiccup on shipping when I was sent a round point, but I was provided a return label and the situation was promptly rectified.

Flawless

I’m new to straight razor shaving, since some 2 months in which I tried a Thiers Isaard 5/8 Le Gelot 1/2 hollow , and a japanese 6/8 silver steel 3/4 hollow besides this one. Today I had my second shave with this Hart razor and with a Mitchell’s Woolfat soap I had the best shave of my life!!! No honing needed just factory edge and horsehide strop. All the best, Emanuel
