Takes a little prep then outstanding...

Takes a little tinkering and drilling to get the holes to the perfect size before you begin but then this thing is magic! Even seed spacing and the depth adjustment is super easy. Replaced the Earthway with the Hoss and I'll never look back.

The disc openers fell off the bearings. They were on crimped on. It does not plant well with tilled ground with organic matter. Ground gotta be perfect for this seeder such as sandy soil

Great planter

Wanted to wait to give this a review after some usage. I’ve put in about 15 double/triple row beds with this seeder. Personally, I think it’s wonderful. I always planted by hand and had to thin. This seeded works great. I went with this seeder mainly because it’s double disc openers. Coming from a farming background and still farming to this day. The double disc openers work great in soil that’s not “powder” it’s able to cut the dirt and plant. I would just recommend a little heavier gauge chain or maybe an added 1-2lbs of weight on the kick stand. I’ve sowed carrots, peas, beats, and beans with it without modifying plates. I’d also add that you should put 6-10 coats of linseed oil on the handles to preserve the white oak handles it comes with. It’s wonderful in my opinion.
