Design amazing. Fit very straight

Bought two of these for me and as a gift for my mom. The prints and tea bag pockets are totally adorable - i love the design so much. However, I think the chest circumference is actually bigger than the hip which is a problem if you are not straight shaped. The top of this shirt fits or is even oversized but I have about a 3 inch gap where I can't close the bottom button. My mom has the same problem even though she wears 2 sizes smaller than me and her shirt fits oversized in the chest. This shirt would be really improved with some hip vents to accommodate other body shapes. I can't wear mine untucked because the bottom button doesn't close, so I'm trying to decide if I should try to make my own hip vents or maybe take it to a tailor.
