Emporia Classic Level 2 EV Charger

It does the job! I just needed a charger that I could schedule and control after my Juicebox got bricked. It is a little disappointing that you have to pay extra for the firmware to get more features but I don't need them right now. Seems well built and hopefully will last a long time (and not go out of business like juicebox did).

Fast Emporia Customer Service can actually fix problems!

I purchased this Emporia EVSE back in July of 22 so I could have it installed prior to the arrival of my electric truck. I did the hardwired installation which I would recommend to anyone, even if you will not use the full 48amps most of the time. This EVSE had worked flawlessly for the first 3.5 years of use, and then recently I started to have problems with it cutting off and restarting over and over again while trying to charge. I called the phone number for support, and after 2 rings it was answered by a direct Emporia employee located in Colorado! Not only was I delighted to be speaking with someone who actually works for Emporia, he was very knowledgeable about the product. We did some testing and determined that my truck wanted a slower 'ramp up' as the charging session started, and was repeatedly signaling to stop the charge. The Customer Service agent was able to remotely make some changes to the ramp up speed, flash the charger, and fixed the problem. Who knows, it could have been a software update to either my truck or the EVSE that changed the behavior, I have no idea. What I am certain of is that I was blown away at the level of service I received! Thanks for caring, Emporia! I will continue to recommend your products.

I am loving the Emporia Classic Level 2 charger. I purchased it to replace my old Juice Box charger. The Emporia is an upgrade. The app works very well, and the length of the charging cord is essential for charging both cars in my garage. Based on previous reviews, the cord was said to be stiff. However, it's much easier to use and smaller in diameter than that of my old Juicebox. If you're on the fence, just buy it; you won't regret the purchase.
