Reviving the sound

Purchased a used ten year old Folkcraft kantele with its original strings. Although the instrument held its tuning, a bit mellow in its sound. Acquired a replacement set to "brighten" the sound once again, bringing it closer to the clearer sound it had coming off the bench. Instrument revitalized.
