I bought this as a gift for my sister who loves owls as well as the color mauve. She is very pleased with her clock. She is retired now so time means little to her at this point but maybe this will bring her back.

Got Violet the Owl for my 16 month olds room and she goes nuts every time she sees it. The clock is lite weight and runs on one battery. It was easy to put together and to get going and looks fantastic in her room! I love everything about this clock and would absolutely recommend getting something from Birch Robot (the beaver was a close second choice)
