GI socks are not all the same. This order was part of an experiment. I ordered "Surplus GI Boot Socks" from four internet shops. Of those four, these were the best. The heels are where the heels should be (not the backs of my ankles) and they are tall enough that go over-the-calf and don't fall down. Too bad there aren't green ones available but these are great socks at a great price.
