This plate won't rust. It's seen very harsh winters and very harsh sun. When you get the car detailed, the detailers *do* notice it and gives your car some extra love and attention. I've only had it for 8 months, but it seems to fade/patina to a copper color. If you're hoping that this will stay black, I wouldn't expect it to; however, I don't mind the color it turned into.
