I live in Slovakia so I will use the hat for the mid European climate condition. The quality of the hat is incredibly good. I tried it immediately. The airflow works well. The shielding is good on top of the head, ears, neck, and face. The mesh of course does not provide too much protection. Which is to be expected. For those with hair it is not a problem, for those without hair it can be. For those losing their hair, like me, I will enjoy the hat for a couple of upcoming years. Sizing is good as described in a shop. I have 59 cm head circumference. Size L works for me. Not loose, not tight. I have one small complaint about the material of the mesh. It is a PVC, or something similar. I would be glad to see mesh from material the Tilley is using on their ventilated hats. The delivery took a bit of time, but again it was announced at the time of purchase. The package tracking was excellent, and the package was not damaged during transportation. I'm looking forward to order Akubra Cattleman hat soon.
