Rhodinol Ex Geranium Bourbon

Rhodinol, the way it is supposed to be.

I have tried 3 different Rhodinols: a synthetic version an ex citronella version and an ex geranium bourbon version; all three are interesting but my preference falls on the version ex geranium bourbon; the synthetic version is very "impersonal" and tame, it does not have any trace of its origins because... it does not have a natural origin. The comparison between ex citronella and ex geranium bourbon rhodinols, to my nose, is definitely in favor of the ex geranium version because the ex citronella has way too much of the aftersmell of citronella (citronellol) that tend to be very present, if not to dominate altogether while the ex geranium version is more rounded, sweeter and less "intrusive" in the compositions that I have realized (so far I have tried to recreate Rose Otto and Diorissimo) The version sold by Fraterworks is, as usual, excellent, I am used to their quality and expect nothing less than top notch and still they manage to meet and exceed my expectations, every time. Just use it as you would use the most beautiful and soft citronellol. A "base" in itself. Indispensable for vintage reproductions.
