They do an excellent job of weighing 1/2 lb. and with eight of them, I can progress slowly to the next 2.5lb. set, 1lb. at a time. In my opinion it is better to progress by 1lb. than to fail to complete a work set with a five pound progression and be forced to repeat the previous days work set. These are most useful.
