Pretty good but more limited than it should be

I love oil and water type effects and I'm only one stage away from having a proper collection of them. But I do also perform Oil and Water in various forms and this one looked clean so I took a look as a possible to use. Sure enough, it's great, easy to do and visually very convincing. My biggest issue is that not enough thought has gone into how to ditch the gimmicks so you're left clean. The explanation of "oh I usually find I just put the cards away and move on to another trick" doesn't really wash for me - especially given that it is so strong it feels like this could be a closer in a walkaround set. I'm currently working on my own solution which would be to start with a set of normal cards doing O & W effects, gradually reducing how many are used and then adding some cards back in, at which point I'll make the switch and use this routine to end strongly. It will be fair to just put the cards away at the end in that scenario because the cards were properly checked out at the beginning. I'm sure there's other/better ways to deal with this but feel like that some should have been included in the instruction video.
