Always at the ready

I have boxes full of decks of playing cards of various types and colours. However, I always keep a few spare decks of USPCC Bicycle Standard red backs to hand. These cards are of excellent quality but very reasonably priced so I don't mind gradually losing cards because an effect requires a spectator to sign a card or I need to perform a mercury fold or tear a card . A black Sharpie shows up better on the red backs than on the blue back version, which I guess explains the popularity of the red backs among magicians.
