I decided to add two red Amano shrimp to my existing colony, and I’m glad I did (one of the rare breeder/stores that carry them it appears). Contrary to the yellow Amanos from the same store, the difference between the red and regular Amanos is much more subtle—but it’s definitely there. The body has a light reddish tint, and the characteristic side dots are noticeably red to orange instead of the typical darker color. The effect looks very natural and becomes more apparent once they’re settled in the aquarium. The shrimp arrived healthy, were around juvenile size (about 1 inch in my opinion), and have been active and thriving since arrival three weeks later. The staff was incredibly responsive and helpful, answering my questions promptly and making the entire experience a pleasure. I’d definitely order from them again.

John was prompt on any questions I had about my Amano shrimp. 3 days from order I received. All alive and he threw in 1 extra. So far 3 of the 5 are still alive two days later. The 2 ramshorn snails are fine. Dark red in color.
