GCN's Essential Road Bike Maintenance

Helpful reference guide when you don't want to open YouTube.

I bought this as a quick reference when working on the bike, and it's great for that! But if you've got time, GCN and GCN Tech has videos for most of the content in this book and some updated videos for things like bar taping. The book relies on links to YouTube for additional detail on many topics. A second revision of this might benefit from some "exclusive" YouTube content associated with it to make the value seem slightly higher.

It attracted me to buy the book.

I find that it presents enough information to get me through a specific repair task and how to plan ahead. I see a lot of DIY books that give just enough information to get you in trouble. Clearly this is not one of those books. I also love that GCN is British and European. Here in Canada there is way too much American input. Nice to get information from a better technical perspective.

Excellent Resoucre

The content is spot on but one thing about this book and other GCN books I have bought the writing font is tiny. I don't wear reading glasses but I had to ask if other people thought the same and they did. Content and presentation is excellent except for the font size
