Kootenay Titanium Carabiner With Back Clip

It is, what I expected!

The Kootenay carabiner is an interesting design, unfortunately in comparison with an ‘ordinary’ carabiner, it scores rather higher on looks rather than performance. For one thing, single handed utilisation of an ordinary carabiner is a lot easier than with the Kootenay. That doesn’t mean it’s not worth getting, for once you’ve locked something into the lower section, it’s certainly not going to get loose again on its own ~ but it’s certainly not going to get as much use by me compared to other, simpler designs.

Overall, it's a nice carabiner. It feels solid and has a nice weight. However, The moveable piece that you push back to slip keys on is not quite as sturdy as I would like. It moves a little and doesn't feel quite secure. It might be that the spring holding it in place isn't that strong. I don't think I'm in danger of losing keys, but I wonder how long the spring mounted piece will last.
