this jacket is amazing so far....I haven't had the chance to test it's warmth in super cold weather because we haven't had any yet but we have some coming and I don't think there is going to be any question whatsoever that this garment will keep me SUPER WARM! The only concern I have is the durability since it's made of wool & I will probably use it while hunting so I'm gonna have to be careful in that regard. Boiled merino wool is incredibly warm & it only stands to reason that it is b/c it came from merino wool sheep & it's been boiled which enhances an already warm material.....you can't go wrong with boiled merino wool for warmth....it's a well known fact that has been keepin people for generations. I realize this is a very expensive garment; however, I've seen hunters drop hundreds of dollars more on other garments but here's the difference & this is big deal for me.....I wanted organic & I wanted boiled merino wool b/c I am currently trying to eliminate as many toxins from my daily exposure as I can while at the same time keeping myself plenty warm when I am outdoors in frigid temperatures. This one garment does both of those things and the other good part about it is it will do okay in damp weather. It won't be as good as a rain suit, but let's face it if it is a downpour, not much of anything's really gonna keep you very dry. And a good thing about merino wool is when it's wet it still keeps you warm up to a certain point.....alotta other garments don't even come close to being able to do this
