Remember how big of a difference it was going from a 6" XR hub to a 6.5" GT hub? Well double that feeling, but in the other (actually good) direction and you'll start to get an idea of how amazing the MTE 5" hub rides.

Truly awesome. If FM had any sense these would be stock on a GT instead of that stupid 6.5” monstrosity. Easily worth the money, as was the huge upgrade to a Float tire. I seriously appreciate that you folks exist because this TRANSFORMED my GT from what I would describe as painfully stiff at 15 PSI to a blissful and spry shock absorbing dream ride at 18 PSI that I can honestly say feels akin to floating. Its sticky, yet nimble. Torquey in all the right ways without any real noticeable top end differences (I ride at a lower 16-17ish with the roads here anyway). I should mention the insanely responsive and stable braking this provides as well. It’s a real confidence booster knowing you can bleed speed with some haste. I’m 100 miles in on the GT with 20 years away from skateboarding and this was the difference between me keeping the GT and selling it for an XRC. Much love to TFL for introducing a diecast version of this for us poors. Also, guys, stop giving me koozies. Seriously 😂🙏🤙

Everything I was hoping it would be
It's difficult to describe the change a 5 inch hub makes. If I'm just riding on the street I can't immediately tell the difference. I've learned to ride a certain way. I avoid pot holes because they have sent me flying. I'm careful on sidewalk lips and curbs because I'm not great a nudging. Drops hurt my knees.
So after changing the hub I'm used to still riding that same cautious way. But I don't actually have to be. When I hit a pot hole I barely feel it. It rides right over chunk. Drops...still hurt my knees cause I'm old but it helps. I highly recommend this as your next upgrade.

Quality Product
The hub looks really well built/designed, and the youtube videos got me through the installation. I need time to ride on it before I can tell about the actual ride quality, but I'm happy with it so far.
