Outdoor Wool Hunting Coat

Best quality coat I've owned

This coat is fantastic. I bought the green plaid for rifle hunting and ice fishing and I used it this winter during the coldest months in northeastern Pennsylvania. It has replaced my normal ice fishing parka, and also multiple layers of cold weather hunting clothes. The cold, snow, freezing rain, nothing gets through this thing. I'm 5'9" about 200 lbs, fit. I ordered a large because that's the size I wear and the size is true. I feel I could have gotten away with a size larger for cold weather specific use, as it is snug over a sweater/long johns, but fully functional. Being a true large also gives me the option of wearing it with normal clothes and not be too bulky. The wrist cuffs were a surprise, and the operation and positioning of the zipper hood made me skeptical of the practicality and function of both. However, once faced with the elements, it was apparent that Johnson has earned their years of design. I now appreciate every design aspect of this coat. You'll never need another cold weather coat. I'm a costumer for life! I felt it was perfect for ice fishing and rifle hunting. Thank you Johnson for making and providing such quality. It's rare these days.

Very nice wool coat & hat!!!!

Veryvery nice wool coat, comfortable & extremely warm!! Numerous days & nights around zero (0) degrees with wind I’ve worn this already and was able to just have a long sleeve t shirt on underneath, completely warm & comfortable. If, for whatever reason you’re gun shy about the price, understand that high quality craftsmanship & wool is timeless. This coat will be passed down numerous generations & still hold true! Don’t hesitate to call customer service, I spoke with 2 wonderful ladies who discussed with me sizing, my needs, etc… & this jacket (as well as my new wool bomber hat) fit like they were tailored custom in the store. This jacket is everything I was hoping for and more. The build quality is amazing and it’s a sharp looking jacket as well. I have a few pieces by sleeping Indian and king of the mountain and this jacket I would put in that category of quality. We are in the middle of a cold cold winter in the mountains of North Carolina. That being said even in days where the temps have dipped into single digits and the wind is whipping this coat had kept me warm. Can not speak any higher on my first johnson woolen purchase. Won’t be the last
