First off, I have to say that Saguaro has a fantastic customer service. I ordered the wrong size (my mistake), and they not only honored a replacement, but since I live in Canada, they told me to keep the first pair. Absolutely incredible. So, on to the shoes: For 90 US dollars (or 130 CAD), I was expecting a level of quality significantly better than that of Whitin or other cheap barefoot brands. While I will say that this is marginally better, it is basically that level of quality. I have the Whitin Men's White Canvas shoe which looks very similar to this one and I'll be comparing with. Pros: The grip on the bottom of these shoes is insane. The 4-way texture looks great and is incredibly stable. I have yet to slip on wet rainy surfaces and make that high pitched streak with my shoes on concrete floors if I'm not careful. The rubber soles of the shoe are by far the best part, and I would recommend you put this design on more of your shoes. The shoes are very roomy and comfortable, and give what you would expect a barefoot shoe to provide. The arches have great cushioning and are comfortable. The back of the shoe is firm, so for those who want a "slip-on" shoe where you can either use the back arch or tuck it in, this model won't work for you. But I appreciate the extra padding. The inner lining doesn't have any pinch points or parts that rub excessively. For my Whitins, I definitely feel where the tongue is stitched to the shoe often. Cons: The quality is decent, but uninspiring. I immediately noticed glue lines between the shoe and rubber sole. The laces also feel quite cheap for such an expensive shoe. They constantly come undone and make the shoe look budget. I ended up purchasing some flat laces online and they hold up much better. In terms of appearance, the shoes look less stylish than the photo at their best angles. From the top, the shoes look and feel like water shoes. The design could benefit from a suede or leather layer on the side below the laces. The uninterrupted breathable layer gives it a water-sock appearance rather than that of a sneaker. Summary: While I have been a bit hard on these shoes, I think I would have been a lot more understanding if the price was closer to $60 USD. To be fair, shipping costs are insane these days, and with the level of customer service, I can appreciate a higher price for a company outside of Amazon. But considering that these are very similar to $40 shoes I purchased from Amazon (now $24), the level of markup feels like a bit much . But that being said, I do like this company and would still recommend other designs or if the price is a bit more reflective of the value.
