Ivory Rift

These are fine cups. Heavy, per usual, which is nice. Sits nicely in the hand. The foot is generous. The shape allows for comfortable holding and picking up. Filled just over halfway, can easily take freshly boiled tea without issue. The thickness of the walls do retain heat, which is pleasant, especially on winter evenings — or for cold hands in general! My only real gripe, and this is likely due to the matte finish we received, is that it is too two-dimensional. It doesn’t have the depth of color or character that tenmokus are kinda known for. While the finish is nice to feel, it overall makes it feel cheaper and the glaze seems almost like a water-dip or a sticker of some sort. Is that worth docking two stars? Considering part of the experience /is/ the finish, something you can stare at and enjoy endlessly, yeah, I would say it is.

I purchased four of these bowls in different colours. They are a perfect size, beautifully made, strong yet beautifully made. Each bowl came in its own separate box, very good protection, the box has a a velvety cover. Very nice presentation, would make a beautiful gift for anyone who can appreciate this kind of work.

The cup is gorgeous-and came in a beautiful box. Exceeded all of my expectations!
