California Rocks and Minerals Field Guide

The field guide has insufficient information or low exposure for northern California, particularly, the northern Sierra Nevada which is rich in mineralization. I live in Plumas County and while there are a few references in this county, it is not nearly the coverage that of central and southern California (vert overweight for central/southern CA). Additionally, the images are colorful, they are not nearly detailed enough. It would be a positive, if there was an image (photo) of the broader view of the mineral or rock in where it was found. Need to have a field manual explicitly for the northern Sierra Nevada - my take.

I appreciate the laminated pages, clear pictures and details. Awesome guide, would recommend book to rock/mineral enthusiast.

The California Rocks and Minerals Field Guide adds Greatly to another Rock and Mineral Book I have, by Providing the Locations, Descriptions, and I don't have to Wear Reading Glasses, which cuts down on reading. The other Book is more for those Majoring in Geology, which states Rocks and Minerals are found in California or maybe a Generic Location, like the Sierra Mountain Range or Gold Country..
