Brightens up my face

I am Asian and White and am over 50 years old. I have a hard time finding the right shade of base makeup and also finding one that doesn't make me look "weird" (per my teen kid who is not used to seeing me with face makeup). I think he is referring to that opaque look, which makes me look paler and older. This line has several colors available with different levels of light/dark and tones, so I was able to find a good match (3.8N). I use sparingly, where there's redness, and blend out. I look like myself but brighter, in a good way.
