Fantastic carnation
Smelling Oeillet 208 for the first time was quite an emotional experience, as it so strongly recalls the carnation heart of so many of my most beloved perfumes of the past. It's a fabulous base that can sometimes be a tiny bit tricky to use well as it does have so much character, but it can add a subtle richness and aromatic background hum to more kinds of formula than you might expect.

A must for vintage creations
If you're a fan of 'golden age' fragrance or just curious to study the complexity and beauty of traditional bases, this is a must have material. It is as described but I'd also add that it has a sense of almost tactile texture to it such as a delicate embroidery on the soft satiny folds of a vintage gown. It is a key player in a few of my vintage creations but I plan to use it in more contemporary accords - great for adding complexity and depth to white florals.
