Wooting 80HE Modding Kit

Excellent kit

Let's be honest the stock PC plate and silicone 'foam' suck the life out of the 80HE. New foam sweetens the tone and makes it more consistent along each row. Avoid the PE foam though as it stops keys fully actuating properly. Strongly recommend buying a new plate to compliment the kit. FR4 and CF were the best overall in my testing.

Terrible tolerances, poor QC

Bad tolerances, poor QC: had to manually trim plastic film in order for it to fit e.g. tape behind pcb and tape on the bottom case. When pushing down on the top left corner the board after installation, a squeaky tape noise is audible, which is a huge deal-breaker. I followed the guide from Leizerg and TKM. QC must be perfect for the price you pay.

Amazing Mod Kit

To be honest, I was nervous ordering it, as I didn't fully understand how to implement it (the Wooting 80HE is my first modded keyboard). I paired this kit with the KBDfans GT-80 and some Gateron Jade Pros (bought here as well) to make the most marbley, deep sound. Genuinely my dream keyboard. Fast shipping, and their online guide was fantastic! You can use as much or as little of the kit. Highly recommend getting one of these if you want more versatility with your keyboard.
