Iascaire Sweater Pattern

Im new to brioche knitting and a bit wary of it. The videos have given me the confidence to learn and enjoy brioche. I’m excited to finish the sweater and look forward to wearing it this winter, it’s so beautiful already!

This was my first brioche sweater so I made a mistake or five...ha. I ended up with 60 sts picked up around the sleeves when I "think" I should have picked up 2 out of every 3 along the front edge (in hindsight) to hit 50. So, I ended up with balloon sleeves...but my daughter loves those so it all worked out. I also ran out of the grey yarn I had but opted to go with a "dipped" sleeve which I quite like so that was fine. The sleeves were also a bit long but that's probably to do with the different row gauge on the yarn I chose- again...didn't matter in the end. For a first brioche sweater pattern (for me) the instructions were clear and easy to follow and the tips for the shoulder cap short rows were a good addition. All in all, I liked this pattern - the sweater body fit well and it's super cozy. When I make it again for myself (which I will), I'll sort out that sleeve stitch count and see what happens.
