Mixed feelings

I don't enjoy writing bad reviews but I consider purchases of this price worthwhile of discussion and criticism. The fabric itself is soft compared to some brands but not exceptionally so. I believe this softness is due to the fabric being blended with polyester, which obviously makes this cheaper to manufacture. Considering this also comes from China i believe this is priced too high. The shirt weighs 34.4 oz but doesn't feel thicker, heavier or warmer than other wool shirts that I've bought which weigh close to 10 ounces less. I'm not sure how that's possible but this material feels thin and less durable than other 100% wool options. 80% of it's weight is 27.52 ounces of wool. I really was looking forward to a heavy thick shirt but I didn't receive that. If this item was 44 ounces maybe it would've met expectations. Aside from that it's a nice slightly less itchy wool shirt. Wouldn't recommend this purchase to my friends over buying some vintage filson or stormy kromer on ebay.

A great shirt

The Expedition Sportsman Guide Shirt is a wonderful shirt. It's very well made, is comfortable to wear and is just the right weight. I recommend it highly and am very happy that I got it.
