Very high quality writing instruments and accessories. Wish there was a cap for the pencil though.

Solid Build, Great Feel, Sub-Optimal Writing

First let me say that the build quality of this pencil is wonderful. It feels great in your hand, and it neither slips nor rolls. It feels like a high quality pen might feel. It is just how I want a pencil to be. If only it wrote as well as it feels. I have tried both the regular and "eternal" tip (the latter of which I was looking forward to) only to find they write extremely light compared to any other pencil I have tried. This is especially true on simple white sticky notes I have. You can see the difference in the photo I have provided. Compared to a very inexpensive standard #2 pencil from BIC, the writing is hardly visible. It does better on some other papers, but you need to apply much more pressure to get a decent line, That leads to the second issue, which is that I have torn multiple pieces of paper with it, especially with the Eternal tip. The tip remaining sharp is a a huge plus, but that combined with the pressure to get a decently dark line has torn even Karst Stone paper, which is some of the most resilient paper I know of (given that it is actually made of stone). I am unsure if perhaps I am doing something wrong, but I have to admit I am disappointed in the product overall. While the build quality itself is wonderful, given the issues actually writing with it, I find it difficult to recommend or justify the price for it.

I did not expect to love this pencil as much as I do. I used it for the first time yesterday to sketch out my artwork. I specialize in sketches of motorcycles. I always start with a pencil sketch, then paint with watercolor, then finish with pen. The pencil sketch is not only the most important part for me, but also usually where I make a lot of my mistakes- drawing, erasing, redrawing, over and over. The AEON pencil was a zen-like experience. It moved so smoothly over the page, I'm quite sure it make the sketching quicker. When I needed to erase something there were no indents in the paper from pressing a regular art pencil too hard. The HB graphite tip is light-colored, but it's perfect for my work. To sum it up, it worked like a pencil, but a vastly better one. If you use pencils in your life, I cannot recommend this enough. This pencil is going to make me a better artist.
