A bit disappointed

I have a 2023 4Runner and got a single one to try out on my passenger side to mount a fire extinguisher and small first aid box. I just bought this 4Runner after owning a 05 Tacoma for 19 years and I didn't think to look that the 4Runner has caps over the front of the rails unlike the Tacoma. This is also not mentioned in the instructions as well other than to remove them if applicable for install. Unfortunately, though you can't put them back on without modification. This isn't mentioned online or in any video I've seen. I'm not a stranger to modifications though since I did a ton on my Taco so out came the Dremel. Not as clean as I would have like but it did the job. The next issue I found is that I have the Weathertech floor mats. Since those have a lip on them to hold liquids the lip actually covers the bottom level of slots for mounting. Due to the floor mat security clips you can't slide the mat back to put the lip under the mounts. Although two minor things they both would have been nice to know prior to purchase. Not everyone is into cutting into their new vehicle in the first couple weeks.
