The Small Town Charm Trail

Just OK

I did this trip this past weekend, and if I'm being honest, I thought it was just okay. The itinerary is very packed, and by the time we reached the final stop, we were pretty exhausted. If you plan on doing this tour, I highly recommend having lunch at the restaurant suggested at the second stop. We decided not to because we were told there would be opportunities to grab food at later stops as well, but the food options at those stops weren't actually suitable for a proper lunch.

Disappointed

We’ve done several Guess Where Trips in the past and always enjoyed them, so perhaps our expectations were higher based on those experiences. Unfortunately, this trip felt much more open-ended than previous ones. A big part of the day seemed focused on food stops. We would arrive at a location to eat, and then less than half an hour later be directed to another food-related stop. If you enjoy sampling local food, that may appeal to you, but it felt repetitive for us. You also need to really enjoy small-town museums, as several stops centered around them. For the price, we were hoping for more sightseeing and exploration. At one stop, the only direction was essentially to “enjoy the local shops,” which left us feeling like there wasn’t much planned activity. Overall, it felt as though the itinerary may have been built around participating businesses rather than around creating a well-rounded day of discovery. We’ve had some fantastic Guess Where experiences in the past, but this one didn’t live up to the standard of the other trips we’ve taken.

Having the physical package is exciting and holds an element of surprise. We gave this as a gift to a family member.
