Recovery Mix

Surprisingly creamy and tasty

I didn't have high expectations that mixed with water would be tasty and have a good texture but the reviews and experience with other Tailwind products lead me to give it a chance. I partially froze a bottle of water to sit in my bag during a hot half marathon and when I finished I mixed this up with the chilled water and it was great. I was pleasantly surprised by how creamy it actually tasted. It's any easy way to refuel for me since I often need to drive home and can't get a quick real food fuel option right away.

Just what I needed!

I use recovery mix right after hard or big efforts, which is the perfect first layer to put in my system. It is tasty, gentle on my gut, and sets me up to be able to eat solid food. I actually also use it during really long runs (8+ hrs), when I need the protein boost, as it is super easy on my gut. I love that recovery mix sets me up for GI success!

Not into the flavor and how much you have to drink

I was excited to try this new formulation that has more protein. But I don’t understand, does it only have more protein because you have to add 3 scoops instead of the original 2? The flavor is not to my liking. There’s an aftertaste that lingers, so I pretty much have to choke it down. Because there is more powder per serving than the original, the texture is really thick and barely fits into my 32oz bottle. But the worst thing was, several hours after drinking it after a 50 mile ride, my stomach complained. I was bloated up like a balloon and couldn’t even eat dinner. I’d much rather drink more of the original to get my protein than to choke down this new formulation. I did try all the flavors and they all have that aftertaste.
