Great product! If you want to do a comedy book test routine on stage or even strolling, get this! Very simple. You’ll have this down in 10 minutes and then you can concentrate on the presentation alone. This has been created to be so simple that the world is your oyster with the presentation. My style is cheeky chappy, naughty but nice and lots of energy but you could pretty much adapt this to any style. One of the best book test routines available. The service and prompt delivery was an added bonus and I will definitely buy from Monster Magic again.

I ordered Shawn Farquhar’s Sheer Luck – The Comedy Book Test from Monster Magic on Thursday, and to my amazement, it arrived today (Friday)! That’s seriously impressive service—super-fast shipping and well-packaged too. No waiting around for a product like this. As for the effect itself, wow—what a gem! Shawn (the FISM Grand Prix champ) has created a hilarious take on the classic book test that’s perfect for stage, parlor, or even MC work. The comedy angle is spot-on: it misdirects the audience beautifully, gets huge laughs, and still delivers that mind-blowing “how did he do that?” moment. I’ve already run through the routine a few times, and the instructions are clear and detailed. It’s audience-tested gold (he’s been using it since 2011, even fooled Penn & Teller with a version of it), and the book looks totally normal—people buy the premise completely. If you’re looking for a fun, reliable mentalism piece with built-in humor that plays big, this is it. Highly recommended! And huge props to Monster Magic for the rapid delivery—made my weekend.

This is a fabulous book test and there are plenty of performances of it on YouTube for prospective buyers to view. After making the decision to purchase this book test I decided to make my purchase from Monster magic as their price was by far the best. I have purchased magic from them previously and the service has always been excellent. This most recent purchase was no different and after ordering ‘sheer luck’ on Friday afternoon, it was delivered to my house before lunchtime on the following day. Great service 👍
