Portal Bike Light

They say the light is warranty with no question ask but when it brakes you're end up sending a warranty slip to them they will say print the label an send it back ta be fix so the customer is paying extra money even no u dont realize it u are for that warranty but if the warranty doesn't exist why are we paying more money my light has a new use now its a paper weight it just doesn't work no more i probably used it about 40 hours give or take for 208 bucks not worth it i got the light cuz of that promise warranty but yet again these small businesses have stolen from there customers so just not when it brakes your NOT just gonna get a new light i am sick of these kinda businesses promising something that DOSE NOT EXISTS

Best service I've ever received from any company, ever.

These lights are expensive. I wondered if I made the right choice and I was thrilled with the light. But when I had questions about one and an issue with another, I received multiple correspondences directly with the CEO founder who personally sorted out my issues (mostly caused by me!) at no cost and even included a mount to fix the issue with my particular bike. Contrast that with the light I bought from another brand on amazon that died mid-ride and they refuse to even service it at any cost (basically disposable). I will never buy a light from anyone else but Outbound!

So worth the investment …..

The Portal light appears to be an excellent purchase that will significantly improve my safety on low light/dark rides. It is expensive, but the build quality seems to justify the added expense over cheaper alternatives. When mounted on my helmet, I definitely notice the added weight and the longer the ride; the more noticeable that weight becomes. However, the increased safety far outweighs the inconvenience of a stiff neck. I will ride 95% daylight on a Trans-Canada Trip in 2027 and will stash the light unless using it. However, the mounting apparatus allows for an easy on/off that only takes seconds and will allow me to see and be seen the other 5% of the time. I have a kLite Ultra Race driven by a Son-28 Dynamo for lighting the tarmac/trail directly in front of me while riding. The Portal is an awesome complement to the kLite because it follows my sight line no matter where I am looking - something the kLite cannot do. The adaptive mode on the Portal is super bright and works well in adjusting the intensity. Also, the strobe features do an awesome job ensuring that I am seen by others which helps mitigate risks related to not being seen. Overall, I’m very happy with the light and would highly recommend it to others who really want to increase their visibility beyond a traditional front light. The cost of this light is significantly less that a hospital trip to address an injury resulting from not being seen by others or not seeing all of the obstacles on trail ahead.
