The material is heavier for those more breezy or chilly days, and it seems very long on me. I am 5'3" though, and I don't mind the extra length one bit since I will be wearing it when I need to stay extra warm! The only issue I have is the ties for the buttons at the neck are missing, so there is no way to keep the poncho closed at the top.
